Nipol® 1312LVP is a free-flowing powder version of Nipol 1312LV, which is a copolymer of butadi-ene and acrylonitrile with medium acrylonitrile content. Nipol 1312LV is often used in nitrile polymer compounds due to its high level of compatibility. 1312LV and 1312LVP, its powder version can also be used as a polymeric plasticizer in both thermoset and thermoplastic polymers to soften the compound without compromising physical properties.
Nipol 1312LVP and 1312LV are useful for improving knitting and flow properties of compounds for roll coverings, adhesives, plastisols, and phenolic resins. They are generally used in quantities between 5 and 15 active parts and can be substituted for an equal amount of solid polymer or added as a plasticizer. When added as a plasticizer, Nipol 1312LV and 1312LVP are essentially free of extractable or volatile content. Therefore, they do not contribute to performance loss as a standard plasticizer would.
When comparing Nipol 1312LVP powder version to Nipol 1312LV liquid version in a rubber compound, there are no statistically significant differences in performance.
