Why do we feel anger? Sometimes, we find ourselves stuck in situations where we feel frustrated or powerless, while at other times, we may feel threatened by the world around us. However, anger is not necessarily a negative emotion. As Tim Keller once said, "Anger is the result of love. It is energy for defense of something you love when it is threatened."
In this video, we see a young boy in outrage, as his fantasy of a 3D classic Sonic the Hedgehog game has been continuously swept aside by the desires of those in the greater Sonic fanbase. Feeling powerless and ignored, the child bursts with outrage, screaming at the top of his lungs into his video camera.
While his impotent rage may seem humorous, this child did not record this video for comedic purposes. SammyClassicSonicFan clearly has a love for classic Sonic games, as his name and videos suggest; In fact, he loved these games so much that he went as far as to create an entire Youtube channel to promote them. This act alone shows just how much passion and dedication one can have for something meaningful in a person's life.
The truth is, many of us may have felt this way in our own lives. With so many people sharing their own ideas and opinions, it can be challenging to make our voices heard; especially if our ideas are unpopular. Unlike most people, however, SammyClassicSonicFan was determined to have his voice heard. Fueled by the anger originating from his love of classic Sonic, this child raised his voice to octaves higher than most people thought were possible. The result was a video that has maintained its meme-status for nearly half a decade.
SammyClassicSonicFan stands as an inspiration to all who wish for their voices to be heard. His words allow us to reflect on our own passions and recognize that one's opinion on matters even as little as a Sonic game can be heard around the world, so long as your voice is high enough.
