Use SoCreate’s Quick Add feature to rapidly add new characters or @mention existing characters in your script.

Type the @ symbol to reveal the Quick Add feature. From here, click or tab down to the Character icon from the sidebar, then add your new Character’s details such as name, Character type, and age.

Use the auto-selected image or choose a new one by clicking the edit symbol next to the Character image.

Sort through the image library by using the navigation along the top to see images already used in your story, or to see Real or Doodle images only.

Use the search bar to type in descriptive features about your Character to further narrow the image results.

Click Use Image to finalize the change. Then click Add Character.

The new Character will appear in your Story Toolbar for future use, and will appear highlighted in the Dialogue or Action Stream Item where they were first mentioned.

Writers should tag characters each time they’re mentioned.

Later, this will help you determine every time a character appears in your screenplay.

Meanwhile, readers can hover over a tagged character to reveal more details about them.

To tag a character, navigate to the character or action stream item you wish to write within.

Type the “@” symbol, and a dropdown of available characters will appear.

Continue doing this for every character mentioned.

Tagged characters will appear in blue text.

Do you need to add a new character? You can do it here by typing a new name, choosing a character type, and adding their age.

The new character will automatically be added to your Story Toolbar for future use.
