New Kubuntu GNU/Linux operating system provides most feature rich and stable desktop experience to the PC. This release brings a modern up-to dates desktop to GNU/Linux users.
Kubuntu 16.10, codenamed "Yakkety Yak," was a version of the Kubuntu Linux distribution released on October 13, 2016. As a regular release, it received support for nine months until its end of life in July 2017. Kubuntu 16.10 featured the KDE Plasma desktop environment as its default user interface. KDE Plasma provided a modern, visually appealing, and highly customizable desktop experience with features such as a panel, desktop widgets (Plasmoids), application launcher, and system tray. Kubuntu 16.10 included a selection of default applications for common tasks such as web browsing, email, office productivity, multimedia playback, and system administration. This included applications such as the Mozilla Firefox web browser, the KMail email client, the LibreOffice office suite, the Dolphin file manager, and various KDE applications for system configuration and management. Kubuntu 16.10 used the Ubuntu Software Center (or GNOME Software) as the default graphical package manager for installing, removing, and updating software packages. Additionally, users could use the command-line package manager (APT) to manage software packages and repositories.
