what to eat as a vegan in zadar !!
alternate title: how to be vegan on a group holiday!
honestly i’m so lucky to have the loveliest friends who didn’t make a fuss over me being vegan, just took care and consideration and that’s ALL i could ask for. what a wholesome lovely time. they let me skip out on paying towards the starters on the big group meal (i had a bowl of tomatoes and they went to towwwwn) and i got 30% off big food shops too. just simple rules and consideration made the world of difference. i dont argue over pennies (none of us do) but no one likes feeling mugged off either. would love to hear whats worked and what hasn’t for you guys!
things we did:
ferry to island of ugljan
ft fort st michael for views (not my fave bc im scared of heights)
and uvala svitla for a swim (which i LOVED)
18km hike, plitvička jezera
stunning lake and waterfall views
boat trip in zadar with snorkelling, drinks and tunes
things we ate:
restaurant bruschetta was perfect for a group meal, their vegan pasta dish was way more thought out and tasty than i expected, so i ate well!
the botanist - one of the best vegan restaurants i’ve ever eaten at. that ‘fish’ dish is SUCH a highlight and i’m so glad i went back for it.
