Real Time Clock and crystals
Spare some time to learn about time in your computer. It is regulated by connecting a battery up to a rock. Straight up science is weird sometimes.

Open up task manager and under the performance tab you can actually get a somewhat real time estimate of the clock speed of your processor right now.
