[MMV] Desaturated
It's shorter than I thought It'd be, but Im still satisfied with the results. This has to be the longest time I've worked on a video, clocked over 100 hours. (Oh Im such a narccist, but actually, it took that long because at some parts I just got lazy). 3D is fun but time consuming and my computer really can't keep up. So I spent like 50% of the time waiting for renders. Anyways enjoy!

This is a write up on my new MMV: Desaturated.
Ill do a how it was made later.
Desaturated was inspired by two things, a story I had remembered a teacher told us when I was in my seventh grade. And Doctor Houses drug abuse. Coupled with a cliche female to make the plot go round. So I guess you could say a tribute to all the broken hearts in the world as well. Oh, I forgot to mention another aspect (the theatrical aspect) of it is inspired by The Soloist.
What can I say about this MMV. Well its definitely not my favorite, out of the three I have completed, my first one is the one I consider my masterpiece. Transatlanticism mixed a light airy tone with a tinge of sadness that wasnt too prevalent to depress the viewer, but just a sprinkle enough to invoke pity. Desaturated on the other hand takes it to the extremes. A drug abuser, who is trying by failing in school is struggling to deal with his life. Invokes the emotion of pity in the viewer, but also dramatically depresses them. Whatever I was thinking when I thought up the plot, I sure wasnt too happy. The MMV is also meant to criticize school, which puts too much pressure onto kids, while trying to sugar coating it with the word fun that is so poorly placed I dont even know why they even bother to try. I rather prefer teachers who right out say: Your not gonna have fun, its gonna be fucking hard. And your gonna have to deal with it. Are we clear on that?. School in ontario has progressively gone down the tube. (Im not going in depth on that its not the focus).
Anyways, the MMV is split into 2 parts, much like Transatlanticism, first part is the happening, the current, the suicide. The second part is the memories, the past, and along with a switch of main characters a change in tone and tint of the video, from a grayish scene to a blue (and slightly more uplifting) color.
You guys may be wondering why, his body was burned in the fire. Well, the explanation comes from a memory I had when I was (4 or 5) and I went to visit my grandfathers grave. He had been burned to ashes after during his funeral (its tradition I guess?). So I remember seeing the ashes, and thats where the Idea came from. Update: This scene never made it in, its too personal.
I wasnt intending on people to enjoy the piece of work I produced. I sure as hell went through the nine levels (was it nine or seven or some other number?) of it making this. So anyways, enjoy? I guess. I sound like Im whining, but hell, I wish I could deserve it. I spent atleast 3 sleepless nights working on this. And clocked more than 100 hours. You guys say its creative, but that sure comes at a cost!
I don't have much to say about this one, its really, confusing and I was half asleep most of the time I was working on it 4 am in the morning.
