Sarkand was first mentioned by Chokan Valikhanov in his essays on the exploration of Semirechye. These references date back to 1857.
The village of Amanbokter is located in the foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau, on the border with China. The area near the national park offers an excellent opportunity to experience untouched nature.
