I recently had been talking to my friends about how I'd love a custom synth that only has 4 assignable macro knobs on the top panel and some buttons to flip through the stored patches. The synth programing would be hidden under a panel (like the CS-80 memory panel). I imagine the synth engine being something like the Nord Lead A1. I feel like this type of synth would help you make more dynamic and interesting patches. With having only 4 knobs on the top of the panel you'd be more inclined to explore the intended modulations of your patches.

Anyway, it got me thinking about how I could create something like this for free. I love the KeyStep and it's 4 banks of 4 assignable CC knobs, however, I don't like that when I map the knobs in Ableton they are gone when I open a new project. In this video I'll go over how to create a User Remote Script to get your midi control to do what YOU want it to do.
