Meta just released something that could shake up how we edit videos—SAM 2, an AI model that nails object segmentation in both images and videos. If you’re into video creation, and specifically if you're someone who enjoys masking/compositing (I use 'enjoy' loosely here), then this could be huge for you. It's the accuracy, speed and ease of use that make this something to watch out for. And because SAM 2 is open-source, there's a high likelihood that we might see the model integrated into the tools we already use, like Final Cut, Resolve or Premiere.
