All warehouses are sub-optimal to some degree but they can be compared to an ideal vision of what that warehouse could be. Then with the ideal in mind you work towards improving the layout of racking and shelving, the placement of products, smoothing the flow of products into, around and out or the warehouse, simplifying the flow of information with better technology and increasing the skill and competence of your staff. Little by little you will advance towards the ideal.
