সিলেটে বন্যা মোকাবিলায় সেনাবাহিনী মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। শুক্রবার (১৭ জুন) সকালে এক বার্তায় আন্তঃবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদফতর (আইএসপিআর) এ তথ্য জানায়।
বার্তায় বলা হয়েছে, অসামরিক প্রশাসনের অনুরোধের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণে সেনাবাহিনী মোতায়েন করা হচ্ছে।
সেনাবাহিনী মোতায়েনের সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে। কিছুক্ষণ পর বন্যাদুর্গত এলাকায় সেনাবাহিনীর সদস্যরা কাজ শুরু করবেন।
টানা বৃষ্টি ও মেঘালয় থেকে নেমে আসা পাহাড়ি ঢলে সিলেটের নিম্নাঞ্চলে দ্বিতীয় দফায় বন্যা দেখা দিয়েছে। বন্যায় জেলার অধিকাংশ স্কুল-কলেজ পানিতে ডুবে গেছে। ইতোমধ্যে সুরমা, পিয়াইন ও কুশিয়ারাসহ জেলার সব নদীর পানি বেড়েছে

Army has been deployed in Sylhet to deal with the floods. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday (June 18th) morning.
The message said that the army was being deployed to control the floods at the request of the civilian administration.
It has been decided to deploy bangladesh army. After a while, the army members will start working in the flood-hit areas.
