Jeff Luszcz is a Product Manager for the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) at GitHub. In this talk Jeff gave an overview of what open source is (community + collaboration), some of the tradeoffs between different open-source licenses (which regulate how others can use, modify, and distribute software), and contribution norms to follow if you want to make a repo “open-source ready".
