If you no longer have the source document (e.g., Word .docx), you will need to tag the title directly in the PDF. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to tag titles using Adobe Acrobat. We'll look at not only how to tag titles according to PDF/UA-1 (ISO 14289-1), but also how to prepare them for PDF/UA-2.
It's important to mention that the two standards, PDF/UA-1 and PDF/UA-2, are based on different PDF standards. Therefore, it's currently uncertain how easily an "old PDF" (according to PDF 1.7) can be converted to a "new PDF" (according to PDF 2.0) in the future.
Oh, and if you still have the source document, you should, of course, implement the title directly in the source document as best as possible. Otherwise, if you create a new version of your document in the future, you'll have to repeat all the work in Acrobat.
