We tell you how the new crossover from the Keeway Group, which has acquired the Morbidelli brand, goes on the road and on dirt. It costs 9,990 euros and is powered by an 87 horsepower V2
You feel good on the new Morbidelli MBP. The seat is low and well padded, the vibrations are reduced and the air protection is excellent. You can feel the heavy weight when maneuvering and the V2 engine heats up a bit in the city, but it's nothing dramatic. The equipment is complete with everything (cruise control, TFT, adjustable windshield, heated grips and seat, backlit controls, engine maps, center stand, three power sockets, tubeless rims, engine guards, hand guards and more). The only thing missing is traction control on the bike tested (Euro 5). It will be on the next Euro 5 Plus.
The finishes are overall valid, especially in light of the price under 10,000 euros with the three aluminum bags. Only the ignition key looks a bit too poor and some stickers are missing the transparent.
But let's get back to the ride. I liked the V2 engine. It doesn't impress you with its power, but it has a nice mid-back and a nice sound. The gearbox is very precise, but a bit noisy at low revs. The brakes are good, as are the suspensions, which have a reduced pitch. However, the fork on rough city surfaces has too dry responses and hits the hands a bit.
The Morbidelli does well on curves. It hides its weight well and offers an easy, comfortable ride. It is not and does not want to be sporty, but aims to be a long-distance racer, a touring GT. The knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires perform well, but we would have preferred the more road-oriented Scorpion Trail. Yes, because the Morbidelli does not have great off-road ambitions, so why put the knobby? Instead, it proves to be a tireless mile-eater and is decidedly comfortable even for the passenger.
In the video you will find the pros and cons that emerged from our exclusive test. Let us know what you think in the comments!
PROS
Excellent riding comfort. Excellent equipment/price ratio. Mid-range engine.
