Are gamers really more depressed and anxious?

There is a lot of conflicting evidence around the impact of time spent playing video games (in the context of addiction/gaming disorder) and mental health. A historical lack of longitudinal work makes it really difficult to tease out the chicken and the egg. However, new research (that was published after the creation of this video) strongly suggests what we already hypothesized: that play time alone does NOT predict poorer mental health outcomes (see here https://royalsocietypublishing.org/do...)
