The device can now run for 55 minutes on a full charge.
Hopefully this method will help us keep these robots alive now that Anki has ceased trading.
If you want me to replace the battery I can perform this procedure for £35 (this fee includes the cost of a 600mAH battery (90 minutes runtime), installation and posting back to you)
NOTE: the white gunk on my hands/fingernails is silicon sealant from an earlier DIY job in my bathroom. I’m normally very clean.
