Conga Patterns from New Orleans Percussionist Cyril Neville
This video breaks down the conga drumming that Cyril Neville did on the Neville Brothers live performance of "Angola Bound" at Tipitinas (link below). This was a request from a viewer that I really appreciated. I spent a few months taking a close look at Cyril Neville's playing to try to feel a different approach to conga drumming. And, although it's not all that different from many of the techniques that I've shared videos about, it was especially helpful for my development as a musician to jam to these patterns and change up my hands a bit with someone else's ideas.
