Popular Education in Health and the creation of the SUS (Brazilian Public Health System)
Did you know that Paulo Freire entered the field of healthcare around the 1960s, well before the existence of the SUS (Unified Health System), and contributed to the Brazilian Sanitary Reform movement?
The SUS Series was created in 2015 with the goal of engaging the public in conversations about the Unified Health System (SUS). The idea stemmed from the need to discuss the SUS beyond its problems and what the traditional press usually covered.
