PS5 HDMI Port Replacement (Digital Edition)
Beginning to end PS5 digital edition HDMI port replacement with extra damage! This was a fun repair, and possibly one of the most challenging and in-depth ones I've experienced to date. The damage from however this HDMI port was damaged was pretty extensive, however luckily there was no torn or ripped traces! The resistor that sits right behind the HDMI port pins was knocked off and actually fused into the pins of the damaged port, luckily I managed to get it out and re-attached. Quite a number of the pins from the damaged HDMI port were also ripped off during the impact of whatever happened to it and were still attached to the trace pads when I removed the bad port, after heating it up I was able to remove them very carefully with tweezers and got all the pads cleaned up, re-tinned and ready for the new port. This whole process of disassembly, repairing all the damage and re-assembly took about 3 1/2 hours of continuous work. It felt extremely rewarding to see that playstation logo up on the TV after all was said and done, and the customer was so happy!
