Wary of Russian nuclear attack, Ukraine prepares evacuation center in Kiev
Ukraine is preparing evacuation centers in the capital Kiev in preparation for a possible nuclear attack. It followed a warning from Russian President Vladimir Putin that his country would take every necessary action to claim victory. Putin recently threatened that Russia would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons against what he called threats to his country's territorial integrity. The preparations follow Russia's escalating move in the war to annex parts of occupied Ukraine following referendums in the respective territories. The vote was viewed by most of the international community as illegitimate and Ukraine's allies, including the United States, condemned Russia's annexation.
