Exploring a Unique Belgian Garden (USDA Zone 8a) and Experimenting with Tropical Plants
Take a slow walk through a diverse and unconventional garden in Belgium (USDA Hardiness Zone 8a). Here, traditional fruit trees like apple, pear, and cherry share space with Mediterranean and subtropical species — and even a few tropical experiments.
This video showcases a wide range of fruit trees growing in a temperate climate, including figs, sicilian peaches, almonds, mulberries, grapevines, persimmons, pomegranates, bananas, and medlar.
I’m also running a small experimental project featuring more exotic species such as papaya (Carica papaya), mountain papaya (Vasconcellea pubescens), tamarillo, and granadillo (Passiflora quadrangularis) to see how far I can push the limits in this climate.
