أن تعريف مصطلح " تعقيد غير قابل للاختزال " هو أي نظام متكامل مكون من عدة أجزاء مركبة تعمل بتفاعل وتناغم تام مع بعضها البعض لتقوم بوظيفة محددة، وعند إزالة أي جزء من أجزائه سيتوقف فعليا عن العمل.
