Hollow is probably one of the layers we all thought was going to be bad, especially since we got Gou last year, which had the same unbalanced gimmick. But surprisingly with the right setup Hollow actually dominates. In this video Hollow was on Xtend+ againt Atomic, in same spin. If you do not know, Xtend+ has very low chances of winning in a same spin battle against Atomic. However, when it comes to opposite spin Xtend+ easily defeats Atomic. So now seeing how Hollow, a layer with poor stamina, on Xtend+ in a same spin battle was able to overtake Tempest in a few battles is already impressive.

To improve the legitimacy of my testing I launched Hollow at 50% when it was launched after Tempest. when I switched it around Hollow was Launched at 80% while tempest was launched at 75%. I wanted to see how well the destabilization works when it has moderate spin compared to the opponent.

Hypothesis one, 2A is the reason why Hollow was able to beat Tempest. I bring this up because after this test my Hollow was covered in the red rubber of 2A, and looking at the battles themselves, we can notice that Hollow tends to dig under tempest, and deal majority of it's heavy hits to the 2A chassis. Because 2A is the part that takes majority of the hits it is fair to assume it could be holding Tempest back.

Hypothesis two, Hyperion 2's weight distribution. Hyperion two has a decent bit more weight than normal Lucifer, so majority of Tempest's weight is focused in the centre. This weight distribution affects the angular momentum enough to affect spin time. Generally the heavier the chip is, the lower the stamina (I'll get to why I used Lc2 on Hollow in a bit). So this could explain why Tempest loses stamina fairly quickly. Atomic cannot be the reason, the Atomic I used is from Cosmo Pegasus from Random Booster Vol.21 and as of right now is the best Atomic released, so Atomic isn't the issue.

Hypothesis three, my favourite one, Hollow is just that good. I believe this is a fair hypothesis as it was always an uphill battle for Hollow. Due to it's design, no matter the customization its weight will still be distributed unevenly, and will lead to poor endurance. This cannot be changed, unless of course a new double chassis with the same gimmick as 4A appears in the near future (single chassis just can't do enough). Aside from that, we have Xtend+'s weakness against Atomic on same spin, the chances of Hollow winning were very very slim. Even so, it was able to not only KO Tempest, but also win by OS which is remarkable.

Observations: when launched at around 80%+ launch strength Hollow jumps a lot, leading even the sharp tip of Xtend+ to function as an attack type driver. I don't believe this is that bad, as with the proper bank shot you could get some massive initial blows that will drastically reduce the opponents stamina.
