Tashkent TV Tower is the second tallest building in Central Asia after the Ekibastuz GRES-2 Power Station located in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan. A decision was made to build this tower on 1 September 1971. The aim of constructing this structure was to spread the radio and TV signals all over Uzbekistan. Additionally, the construction of the Tashkent Television Tower started in 1978 and was completed in 1984.
