VR Training Amsterdam Skills Centre | 1000 realities studio
Hospitals worldwide face severe shortages of health professionals. To train doctors and nurses with expertise in areas such as hand surgery or neurology, hospitals are implementing an unlikely method: virtual reality simulations. VR training solutions are also saving hospitals millions of dollars.
For this project we partnered with the Amsterdam Skills Centre. In this training the user is a medical assistant during hand surgery; the trainee can scrutinize hand x-rays, view the surgery process, check for appropriate tools and scan animated instruction. This immersive project is a striking visual combination of 360 sphere video and 3D environment—which is crucial. Not only does the medical assistant trainee see more of the environment around them, but they perceive and interact with things in different ways as well.
