India is trying to expand its armed forces and defense budget through Agnipath scheme. Agnipath scheme is aimed at completely changing the current recruitment process and structure of Indian army. Through this scheme, every year thousands of Indian youth will be recruited. They will serve a tenure of four years. Only 25% of these will be retained and will be liable to serve for 15 more years.
