BACKGROUND:
I recorded this song back in 2021 at the legendary Quad Studies in NYC on the 5th anniversary of my homie YPNJohnDoe passing away. The day and moment were so surreal, it was almost like a movie when recording it. So I wanted to capture that same energy in the music video. The song is called Monroe as a tribute to John Doe's old crib which was on Monroe Ave in Chicago. To keep the theme going in the actual music video, I wore a red ski mask to represent John as well used a red curtain to give a movie vibe since one of our biggest songs was called "Like A Movie". Lastly, I wore a "Long Live Danze" crewneck sweatshirt I got for my lil homie Danny, who passed away earlier this year in Chicago too. I've lost a lot of friends and family over the years and this video and song was a tribute to them all.
