You're viewing a video that's part of our free preview of our BigCommerce Front-end Foundations course. This is an in-depth series of lessons on all the key aspects of the Stencil framework, the theme engine for the built-in BigCommerce front-end. We cover topics like advanced template techniques, inspecting BigCommerce data schema, how to effectively customize CSS and JavaScript, responsive images, making your theme Page Builder friendly, and more.

2.1.1: The debug Parameter
Your use of Stencil objects in your theme templates so far has been mostly guesswork; you can inspect the default Cornerstone templates to discover a lot about the available objects, and in some cases you just took my word for it that certain objects existed. There's no need to stick to guesswork, however, because the Stencil object details can easily be inspected in the environment served by the Stencil CLI, via the debug querystring parameter.
