Made with help of Bandlab.
As opposed to Sensation Perception, this song is very old. I may have written it around 8 years ago and it has been performed and adapted many times. It always came down to the ending and the way I wanted to end the story told here. I was only able to finish it once I realized that the ending can be more ambiguous and the meaning depending more on the listener.
Lyrics:
At the end of all that you've known
There's a man, face of stone
and he's curling a finger he beckons you on
He says "Come on son, come on."
Not an angel or a demon though.
Voice of silk, stare of snow.
Down the length of his point lies
a fork in the road, he says
"One way's up, and one way's down."
Hold your breath and you close your eyes
The past and the future you say your goodbyes
and to every religion you pray once or twice, he says
"Time to decide."
Dead man walking
Dead man talking
Like he knows what he's talking about.
Dead man drinking
Dead man thinking
Got it all figured out
Man says "You're my thousandth customer today.
As a present I'll show you the way.
Just look for the tunnel with the light at the end.
Go on then, go on."
Dead man walking
Dead man talking
Like he knows what he's talking about.
Dead man drinking
Dead man thinking
Got it all figured out
Dead man knowing where dead man's going
Try to run but he can't turn around
Dead man creeping, but dead man's still thinking
Got it all figured out x3
