How To: Connect A Microphone To Android Smartphone (And Avoiding A Low Quality Mic).
Today I show you how to connect an external mic to your Android smartphone (I’m using the Pixel 4XL).
This was a fun project where I learned some important things, but most importantly:
Today’s smartphones are built so well, that their internal mics are actually very impressive. This means an external mic is not necessarily mandatory depending on your hardware and room you are recording in.
Also, invest in a good mic. The mic used in this video for demonstration is actually low quality. This is important to see in the video because it shows you that a low quality mic can also tank your audio performance.
