(Guide) Root + Recovery + Busybox + OEM Fix + EFS Backup Note 9 N960F/FD/N Exynos
Before proceeding, please note:
Samsung Pay and Personal Area will no longer work even if you restore the stock firmware
You may temporarily lose the OEM unlock option (It will appear after 7 days without
rebooting your smartphone)
Save all data and files because the procedure will reset your smartphone's memory.

Root with TWRP + Busybox + OEM Fix
Install the Drivers

1. Enable DEVELOPER OPTIONS in Settings - About Phone - Software Information - Tap 7 times on
Build Number to enable Developer Option in the General Settings menu.
2. Enable OEM UNLOCKING from DEVELOPER OPTIONS and USB Debugging.
3. Download and copy the N960_root_OEM_issue_devices_V* .zip file to your storage device. EXTERNAL

4. Download TWRP recovery for Note 9

5. Turn off your Note
6. Press Volume Down + Bixby button and connect it to your PC in Download Mode, then press Volume Up when asked to
continue
7. Download the latest version of Odin, open it, and ensure that AUTO REBOOT is disabled in the Odin menu.

8. Select TWRP recovery (tar image) in AP and press START.
9. Once the process is complete, Odin will display PASSED.
10. Now disconnect your Note and press Simultaneously press VOLUME DOWN + POWER until the
screen turns off, then immediately (very quickly) press VOLUME UP + BIXBY + POWER to
reboot the Note into recovery.
11. Select "Allow modification" in recovery as soon as it appears.
12. From TWRP recovery, select the WIPE menu - then FORMAT DATA - and type 'yes' to wipe. WARNING: EVERYTHING WILL BE DELETED, SO I HOPE YOU SAVED ALL YOUR DATA WHEN I WRITTEN IT FOR YOU.
13. Once the formatting is complete, go back to the menu and select REBOOT, then RECOVERY to re-enter
recovery after the wipes.
14. Now select INSTALL and navigate to the path where you saved the file
N960_root_OEM_issue_devices_V*.zip on the EXTERNAL SD card. Then select the root type you prefer, and then select OEM PATCH, which
will prevent the OEM UNLOCK settings from disappearing and the 'custom binary error'.
15. Once you're finished, select REBOOT TO SYSTEM
BACKUP EFS FOLDER (IMEI)
16. Reboot into recovery and immediately back up the EFS folder and save it on the external SD card, on your PC, under your pillow, and
in the refrigerator. If it's accidentally deleted, your phone won't be able to recover. It will work better.

The Magisk app may appear after another reboot of the Note if you don't see it immediately.

Check for the OEM UNLOCK option in DEVELOPER OPTIONS. If it's there, you can reboot the Note.
If it's not there, you'll need to keep the Note powered on for 7 consecutive days, then it will reappear.
