Head Sounds 7 - Cryosleep Chamber
I am the last of the engineers working in the cryosleep chamber, we have been in space for 18 months now and 250,000 people are all tucked up in their crysleep pods. We are traveling at the speed of light and we will be cruising at this speed for 455 years and 8 months to reach our 'New World' destination. The sound you hear is the sound of the cryosleep chamber pods.
We had to leave Earth as the pollution and radiation entering the atmosphere was unbearable due to the disintegrating ozone layer breaking up. I have checked all computer control interfaces and all is programed for the journey ahead. Only one thing for me to do now and that is to get into my cryosleep pod and wake up at our new home, it will just seem like a good night's sleep!
