Fighting off Somali Pirates | Transiting Gulf of Aden & Precautions | Onboard
This video is about transiting Gulf of Aden under naval warship convoy in 2011 when Somalian pirates were still active and attacks on passing by vessels were very common. Therefore, before transiting this area , we had to strengthen our security and take additional measures including security guards on board.
I was lucky enough to sail parallel with my father and he was escorting me through the gulf of Aden , actually guiding / saving me as he did in childhood days :P.
