I was walking along with a friend after we had a drink. He saw a woman and said to me something like "I'd love to fuck her" or something like that (he's a durty dawg). He said it to me, and she did not hear. But we was going past a police van at the time and they heard him. They called for him to stop, he ran away. Several officers grabbed him and started assaulting him. I was having a go at them saying that they are bullies and they don't need to be so rough. I did not swear at them or threaten them. But they then grabbed me and slammed my face in to the pavement which drew blood on my forehead. They then twisted my head, arms and legs in to extreme positions causing pain that lasted over a week.
So we both got arrested for drunk and disorderly. We was a bit drunk, but was NOT being disorderly at all. I was released from the police station and had to go to court a week later. I woke up the morning of the court date, and I could still not move my neck properly. So I did not attend court. I shouldn't even have had to!
A week later there was a knock at my door at about 6:30am. I did not answer as I still think we got very mistreated by the police. They kept knocking, and then started kicking the door. They then started smashing my door with their battering ram which was making the whole block shake. I could hear them outside gasping for breath and telling one of the other officers "You have a go". After over an hour I thought I might as well answer the door because they were not going to go away, and if I answered there might still be a door to lock when they take me. So I went to the door and called out "Who is it?". One of the officers said "It's the police...... YOU KNOW WHO IT IS! Open the door!".
I asked what they wanted. They said "Open the door and we'll will tell you". I said "Tell me and I'll open the door". They ended up telling me that there was a warrant for my arrest. So I tried to open the door, but the all the force from the battering ram must have damaged the lock because I could not open it. I told them this, they said "Alright chief, stand back and we'll get it open". So I went and had a cup of tea while they were still struggling to open the door. At the end they did not even open the door. They removed bricks from all around the door frame and pulled the whole frame down while it was still attached to the door.
By the time they got me out it was about 9:30am. So when I got to the police station, I had missed the bus to take me to court that morning. So I had to spend nearly another 24 hours in the cells until the next morning bus for court.
So for something I should not have been arrested for, and got assaulted for, they spent 3 hours, and about 12 officers to come and get me. They are pathetic!!
I cannot even remember what punishment the court gave me. But my door was still unsecured over 3 years later.
It would have been funny if they had one of them police tv camera crews at my door that morning. I have seen the shows when they use the battering ram to enter a crack dealers house in under 10 seconds. I have never sold crack, yet my front door was extremely secure!
