2019 Honda Gold Wing Tour First Look
We tested the Honda Gold Wing Tour 2019
This year I put an X on my list of outstanding models to try, nothing less than the Honda Gold Wing, a motorcycle for which I have waited patiently for many years waiting for a good opportunity and it arrived unbeatable: 700 km on the back of the Gold Wing Tour 2019.
The Honda Gold Wing is one of the few bikes that has achieved a reputation that transcends the limits of its sector. You can be before an audience that is not fond of motorcycles and you will understand perfectly what you mean when you talk about Gold Wing.
And being so, such a charismatic and historical model, the Honda Gold Wing was a pending task on my list of motorcycles to try. To say at this point that I had never taken a Gold Wing was almost a sin but during all these years I have been patient and I knew that sooner or later I would get a good chance to get on the controls of this motorcycle. And that's how it was!
Honda proposed to me to make a trip of more than 700 km on secondary roads with version 2018 of this historical Japanese, a trip that has allowed me to taste all the essences of this spectacular motorcycle. And to top it off, the unit that I had in my hands was nothing less than the Honda Gold Wing Tour equipped with DCT and Airbag, that is, the "full equipe" unit that is for sale for no less than 37,700 euros.
Of course, in these years of waiting I have missed the opportunity to try a Gold Wing as "the earlier", because with the 2018 version Honda has opted for a bike with more contained dimensions, a lower weight and somewhat more aggressive lines , changes that have sought to give a new approach to this traditional model.
Maybe it would have been interesting to have tried an earlier version to check how the changes have been made, but what I can tell you is that it has fulfilled all the expectations I had generated in my imagination during all these years, something that does not always happen ...
Be that as it may, I had the pleasure of putting a new X in the list of motorcycles to try. Keep reading and I'll tell you my impressions about it.
