Adenomyosis or fibroid—which one is messing with your uterus? Let’s clear the confusion.

Fibroids: Localized solid growths, usually well-defined.

Adenomyosis: Diffuse thickening of the uterus, often poorly defined.

On ultrasound:

Adenomyosis shows a “mottled” or speckled muscle layer.

Fibroids may cast shadows and have a clearer border.

Doppler Scan: Adenomyosis shows more scattered blood flow; fibroids show peripheral flow.
