StarShip - Full Stack WDR Timelapse
On Monday, January 23rd, Ship 24 and Booster 7 were tested in a so called "Wet Dress Rehearsal" (WDR).
Ship 24 was standing stacked on top of Booster 7, and both were loaded with fuel up until the moment when the engines would normally ignite in a launch scenario.
The test included loading both stages, booster and ship, with fuel while the arms of the launch tower (also called chopsticks) were wide open, so the StarShip was standing on the launch pad the way it would just before a launch.
Not in this clip: The launch pad that the rocket is standing on has a water system that can pour out a lot of water very fast to dampen the incredible sound of the engines. This was also tested successfully.
This test was a big step closer towards a first launch!
