Fishing bivouac in a high altitude lake! "In the mountains" Pyrenees ep 3
We had already done two fishing trips in mountain lakes the previous two summers, but this fishing trip to a Pyrenean lake left us with a truly memorable experience. After nearly five hours of hiking, backpacks heavily laden with gear, the reward materialized in the form of a splendid high-altitude lake! Its inhabitants, difficult to find at first, were ultimately very receptive to our lures. We were delighted to catch superb chub and Arctic char, most of them with spinners. Unfortunately, there was no boiling lake once evening fell; our fly rods remained in their cases. A lesser evil when the chub are receptive to lures throughout the session!
