At one end of the spectrum (pun intended), spectroscopy-based tools are finding their way into some of the most routine/applied environments; for example, handheld Raman for bulk powder analysis in the pharma supply chain or mid-IR for bioprocess analytics. At the other end of the spectrum (and especially in combination with microscopy), spectroscopic tools are enabling analytical scientists to make new measurements and seek answers to new questions.
