Dear Chess Friends!

This Sunday I will conduct the webinar called "How to Play Solid Chess," where we will explore the nuances of a calm, slow, positional playing style. It is characterized by techniques such as positional exchanges, fixing pawn weaknesses, seizing space, and putting pressure on weak squares.

🗓 Date: 07/21
⏰ Time: 11 a.m. EDT, 4 p.m. UK time, 5 p.m. CET

What You Will Learn:

Play to limit your opponent's moves
Hold on to unfavorable positions by going on the defensive
Utilize prolonged maneuvering to wait for your opponent to make mistakes

We will also discuss how certain openings align with a solid style, including the Queen's Gambit, the London System, and the Caro-Kann Defense. Additionally, we will examine the playing styles of great chess masters like Capablanca, Rubinstein, Botvinnik, Andersson, and Carlsen, and see how universal players such as Smyslov, Fischer, and Karpov incorporated solid strategies into their games.

The webinar will be interactive, so we start with theoretical explanation about the topic, and then move into practice. You will also have an opportunity to play a Simul with me from a certain position. Finally, to consolidate the material, we will analyze several games that we played.
