SOLID is a set of design principles for maintainable software:

1. Single Responsibility: Each module has one reason to change.
2. Open/Closed: Extend functionality without modifying existing code.
3. Liskov Substitution: Subtypes must be substitutable for their base types.
4. Interface Segregation: Don't force clients to implement irrelevant methods.
5. Dependency Inversion: Depend on abstractions, not on concretions.
