We know about the enormous challenges that we face in Australian cities over the coming decades, as climate change really starts to hit home. Nothing will ever be the same again and we need some seriously innovative new approaches to water. We heard from Kaia Hodge about the challenges facing a metropolitan water utility. Next up, Lisa Mclean spoke about some revolutionary new technologies and business models that are transforming water in new urban developments. And we heard from Briony Rogers about how good design, combining technology, infrastructure and an understanding of human behaviour, can transform our communities into urban oases.
In the second half of the evening we were joined by a panel of experts with many decades of experience of the water industry between them. What will the water infrastructure of our cities look like in 2030? What kinds of new challenges will our cities have to meet? Where will our water come from, how will it be moved around and what will we use it for?
