In this lecture ´´ Gastric Function Tests´´ are explained. Section one is about “Overview and Classification”. In the beginning of this session a chemical examination of gastric contents is performed. The chief constituents of gastric juice are then explained by the educator. This follows by a brief discussion about errors in collection of samples. In this section, the examination of the resting contents is performed based on volume, consistency and color. The educator then demonstrates the examination in blood, mucus and bile and concludes the session by explaining the free and total acidity and organic acids.
