Batonebis is one of many Georgian songs to heal sick children. Illnesses such as chicken pox and measles are signs of the Bat'onebi spirits, who can be won over with gentle songs and bright instrumental music. This version is from Imereti in western Georgia. "O lords, amuse yourselves sweetly. By the mother of these lords there stands a golden cradle. Within lies the lord's child, naninana, great lord.
