I DID IT! MK8 Challenge Rules: First 48 times in a row on 200c, Hard comps, w/ Mushrooms Only!
No music cos headphones in the jack for the console FML.. Anyways, I streamed this live trying to get first 48 times in a row on 200c against Hard (highest level) comps with mushrooms only has items and I DID IT!!!
I couldn't find anyone else who has gotten this world record using just the Mushrooms for items, with hard comps and a random 48 levels. What I found is usually the first 48 levels done in order. The only other instance I found is with this streamer; here's the YouTube video of it: • Mario Kart 8: All 48 Tracks 200cc Mushroom... . This is also the first 48 levels though and not DLC but everything else the the same as my run. They stated in the title that their record was 1:38:41. My run is 1:37:46 or maybe a couple seconds less. Speedruns.com has no item runs for the first 48 levels with normal comps at 1:26:00ish and Item runs at 1:32:00ish. But these are the first 48 and not any random level including some of the longer DLC levels, which were in my run.
I did this on the switch console and any of the new DLC could be in one of the 48 random levels. This challenge pushed my limits and showcased that sometimes, I can game (not always). Check out the video to see how I managed to navigate through the chaos and claim the top spot time and time again.
