Asynchronous video tutorial for school and community groups. Can be watched all at once or broken down into two videos, part 1 setting up your beetle traps and part 2 checking your beetle traps. If your school is located within the lower mainland of British Columbia you may qualify for a FREE live workshop. Email us for details.Outcomes:
1) define indicator species, biological control, pollinator, introduced species, native species, invasive species, pest, vertebrate, invertebrate
2) list the roles that insects play in our urban ecosystem (pollinators, food, biological controls, decomposers)
3) collect real data for our Beetle Watch research project

Traps can be checked after 24hrs or left for up to 1 week (must be checked minimum once a week in order to keep beetles alive). Traps can be continuously checked all year long, you choose how long you would like to participate. Plenty of questions for higher order thinking, food chain worksheet and certificate included.
