SignageTube: How to send a presentation to a player?
OK, you have your presentation ready but now you want to send it to your screens. At your control panel, open the Scheduling page. At the player you have a few buttons or small icons to manage this player. Click the first icon, which is called our quick start wizard. You can drag your presentation into the drag area or click the button to navigate to your presentation.
After dropping the file, or selecting it via the file explore option, your presentation is uploaded to your SignageTube server. Optionally you can add more files for this playlist. Finally click the Next Step button.
On the next screen you can change the default end date, optionally give it a name, stop existing allocations etc. For most usages, the default values are fine. So most users can click the Checkbox icon to accept it. This creates a playlist with your file or files and schedules it for playback on this screen.
Back on the scheduling page, you now see an animation to indicate that the playlist is being rendered on our servers. The complexity and length of your presentation influences the duration of the rendering process. Give it some time.
When ready, a filmstrip of your playlist will become visible. This indicates that the playlist is rendered and being send to the player.
At the same time, you get a mail in to signal that the render process is ready.
Open the Real-time page to check the current situation of the player. The player will send thumbnails of what is shown on the screen every 30 seconds. Here you can verify everything. Mission accomplished.
