Denouncing the Gender Trinary
After all this talk about the gender trinary, I'm ready to denounce that model and replace it with more inclusive language! How about you?
Here are some terms you might want to look up for reference:
Epicene: A neutral gender experience, either being in between male and female or outside of them entirely. Epicene can also describe an undefined or indeterminate gender.
Nonbinary: Genders that are not entire male or female. This can include genders like agender and epicene, but also includes demiboy, demigirl, genderfluid, genderflux, and multigender.
Abinary: Genders not at all related to the binary; also called aphorian. You may find genders like neutrois, epicene, maverique, ilyagender, and others under this umbrella.
Outherine: Genders that are outside of male, female, epicene, and are also not genderless or xenine (related to xenogenders.) Maverique is a common outherine gender, but many others exist.
