How to allow files to be written to a disk. How to open a hard drive.
Disk Management. Right-click and select "Offline" and then "Online."
Go to "This PC."
Right-click the read-only drive and select "Properties." On the "Security" tab, check "Read and Write" in the "Allow" column. Click Apply.

If this "Storage Device Policies" key doesn't exist, you need to create it: right-click "Control" to create a key and name it "Storage Device Policies."
Double-click the WriteProtect key in the right pane to open its properties. Change the value from 1 to 0.
